9Bio Therapeutics Approved for Highest Microsoft for Startups Credit Tier to Accelerate AI-Enabled Biologics Discovery
Quebec City, QC, January 6, 2026 – 9Bio Therapeutics, a biotechnology company developing next-generation tumor-selective biologics, today announced that it has been approved for the highest Azure credit tier available through Microsoft for Startups, providing access to US$150,000 in cloud credits to support the continued development of its computational protein engineering platform.
The support will help 9Bio scale its structure-guided computational discovery activities, including large-scale digital exploration of antibody and protein variants, molecular modeling, candidate optimization, and data-driven prioritization of therapeutic candidates before laboratory testing.
“Access to expanded Microsoft Azure resources is an important milestone for 9Bio as we continue building a more predictive path to disease-selective biologics,” said Henrique de Carvalho, Co-Founder and CEO of 9Bio Therapeutics. “This support allows us to increase our computational capacity while preserving capital for critical experimental validation and therapeutic development activities.”
9Bio’s platform is designed to engineer biologics that act more precisely where they are needed, with an initial focus on oncology programs where tumor-associated targets may also be present in healthy tissues. By combining computational design, structural biology, and experimental validation, the company aims to develop differentiated antibody-based therapeutics with improved tumor selectivity, safety, and therapeutic potential.
The Microsoft for Startups support will be used to strengthen 9Bio’s cloud-based infrastructure and accelerate the development of its proprietary computational workflows. These capabilities are expected to support both internal therapeutic programs and future collaborations with biopharma, academic, and translational partners working on complex protein-based therapeutics.

About 9Bio Therapeutics
9Bio Therapeutics is a biotech company committed to developing innovative oncology therapeutics. Our AI-guided structural biology platform integrates anatomical and biochemical contexts to design drugs that selectively target tumors. Using this approach, we generate medicines with specificity for tumors that spare healthy tissues, improving safety, efficacy, and opening the door to previously underexploited therapeutic modalities. Our pipeline includes conditional, tumor-selective anti-PD-L1 antibodies that can serve as strategic arms in multispecific constructs, and bispecific ADCs designed to address chemoresistant and metastatic cancers.
About Microsoft for Startups
Microsoft for Startups is a global program designed to help early-stage companies build, launch, and scale on Azure. The program provides eligible startups with access to cloud credits, AI models, developer tools, technical resources, and go-to-market support. Through the program, startups can unlock up to US$150,000 in Azure credits as they demonstrate progress, adoption, and sustained Azure usage.
